Gift Nifty is ruling at 22,760 with respect to Nifty futures closing of 22,774 on the NSE. Key results will anchor today’s movement

Domestic markets are expected to open on a flat note on Tuesday amid persistent headwinds: inflation, rising crude oil prices, geopolitical tension and higher bond yields. Gift Nifty is ruling at 22,760 with respect to Nifty futures closing of 22,774 on the NSE. 

The main focus will be on India Inc September quarter performance as prominent companies such as Larsen & Toubro, Maruti Suzuki India, SBI Life Insurance Company, Bajaj Auto, Cipla, ACC, Concord Biotech, Honeywell Automation India, IndiaMART InterMESH will declare their results today.

According to Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, investor sentiment is also likely to remain cautious ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy decision, with markets looking for signals on the future interest-rate trajectory. Any shift in the Fed’s outlook could influence US Treasury yields and the dollar, with implications for foreign capital flows into emerging-market equities, he said.

“The near-term direction of domestic markets is likely to remain sensitive to geopolitical headlines, movements in crude oil prices and cues from the Fed. Volatility is expected to persist as investors weigh these external risks against the potential for a sustained recovery in risk appetite,” he cautioned.

Om Mehra, Technical Research Analyst, SAMCO Securities, said the Nifty appears to be consolidating and establishing a base; however, a decisive directional breakout may require a few more sessions to materialize. “On the Derivatives front, maximum Put OI remains at 22,500, followed by 22,600 and 22,400, while maximum Call OI remains at 23,000, followed by 23,100 and 23,200. The PCR jumped to 1.13 from 0.74, indicating a shift in positioning towards Put writers,” he said.

Meanwhile, Asian markets are trading sharply higher in early deals on Tuesday, boosting sentiment in the domestic markets.
